I'm a CS student, studying for my BSc in Computer Science in Nanaimo, BC, Canada. KolibriOS interests me because low level and assembly programming, reviving old tech, and getting the most out of our hardware all interest me. That said, I have a long way to go. For my first contribution I plan to edit and improve articles on this wiki. Over the summer I'll keep messing with ARM assembly, because I was already exposed to it a bit, and down the line I'll jump over to x86 assembly with FASM. Sooner than later I will also experiment more with building an application in Kolibri.

I would really like to work my way up to being a participating developer, but I need to work my way up by making more open-source contributions in simpler projects, writing more C, C++, and Assembly, and studying operating system concepts this fall (2024). Some of the things I'd like to some day work on for Kolibri, of varying levels of difficulty:

  • Implementing HTML Form support in the browser
  • Unicode! I study the Chinese language so this one is important to me.
  • A spaced-repetition flash card app, like a stripped down Anki, perhaps making use of the SQLite port I thought I saw somewhere
